This stilt house was built since 1970 by a Dao ethnic family, who was at the time seeking after the Agawood (an extremly valuable plant) around the Vũ Trần valley, Võ Nhai district, Thái Nguyên province.

In the valley, thera were a Kigeliaforest as well as many parashorea chinensis trees nearby. The framework of the house thus was made of parashorea chineses while the floor, walls, and columns were made of Kiglia. The house was built by skilled workers from Hà Nam provinces. Therefore, even though the framework is similar to other traditional stilt house, it nonetheless has a distinct Northern “Kẻ truyền” style of three main compartments and two smaller wing rooms.

The decoration of flowers and birds were intricately sculpted following the Dao ethnic style. It has taken 3 months to disassemble and delivery the stilt house by manual labor (there were not any road accessible for cars during that time) from the valley
